Westwater Resources, Inc. (NYSE American: WWR), a company focused on developing battery-grade natural graphite, has announced the termination of its Products Procurement Agreement with SK On Co., Ltd. The agreement, which was established on February 5, 2024, involved SK On purchasing CSPG natural graphite anode products from Westwater. The termination was communicated to Westwater on March 31, 2026, and is effective immediately. This decision reflects the challenging market conditions and evolving environment that customers are currently navigating, as stated by Frank Bakker, CEO of Westwater Resources. Despite this setback, the company remains committed to advancing its projects, particularly the construction of the Kellyton Graphite Plant, which is designed to produce battery-grade graphite. Westwater continues to provide product samples to support customer evaluations and is optimistic about future agreements with SK On, contingent on updated terms. The company expects to commence initial production of battery-grade graphite within approximately 12 months, pending the securing of remaining project financing.
