On March 16, 2026, DTE Energy Company announced that its Board of Directors approved the execution of a Primary Supply Agreement (PSA) and a Clean Capacity Accelerator Agreement (CCAA) with Google LLC. This agreement marks a significant step for DTE Energy as it will provide electric service to Google's upcoming 1.0 gigawatt data center located in southeast Michigan. The PSA is set to run through December 2047, with options for extension, and includes provisions for minimum monthly charges and termination fees if the agreement is terminated early. Additionally, under the CCAA, DTE Electric will deploy up to 480 megawatts of energy storage capacity and 1,600 megawatts of renewable generation to support the data center's energy needs. This initiative is expected to enhance DTE's renewable energy portfolio and align with its sustainability goals. The agreements also stipulate that Google will provide DTE Electric with Zonal Resource Credits of approximately 300 megawatts of accredited capacity at no cost. Google's parent company will provide credit support for both agreements, ensuring financial stability for DTE Electric as it embarks on this ambitious project. This partnership not only signifies a strong commitment to renewable energy but also positions DTE Energy as a key player in the energy supply for large-scale tech operations in Michigan.
